Next Battlefield in Pre-Production, DICE Says “Valuable Lessons” Learned from Battlefield 2042
EA and DICE seem to be entering pre-production on the next installment of Battlefield. With the rough launch of their most recent entry, Battlefield 2042 was boasted as a new-gen title that would bring a massive entry into the series with next-level graphics, massive maps, and exciting gameplay. Battlefield 2042 failed to hit the mark with fans and was received with outrage that brought about a petition for refunds. The developer feels as if they have learned some “valuable lessons” that will help them with the next entry in the franchise.
The Gamespot report stated that “developer DICE has learned ‘valuable lessons’ from Battlefield 2042 and will no longer be using that game as the new foundation for the long-running FPS franchise.” It’s a real shame that the game they once called the “future of FPS” has fallen so far that they look to shift the focus in the next installment and will look to implement a new formula. What that formula is, remains a mystery as we look to see if they touch on previous entries that are still held in high regard by fans or if they will be building this new foundation from the ground up.
The question remains if the game developer will be able to win the fanbase back after this last showing and whether they are able to build something worthy of a second chance.
