Warner Bros Reassures Fans That HOGWARTS LEGACY and GOTHAM KNIGHTS Will Arrive This Year
Warner Bros has reassured fans that they can still expect to jump into the world of Harry Potter and Gotham this year in the upcoming games Hogwarts Legacy and Gotham Knights. The two games have seen delays and it was uncertain if they would make a 2022 release, but Warner Media CEO Jason Kilar confirmed on Twitter that both games are slated to release this year as part of the company’s plans.
“If you want to know what motivates us as a team, it’s this mission,” he said, alongside an image which states: “To move the world through story.”
“This mission, this strategy continues in ’22,” he added, “with a sense of urgency: launching HBO Max in many more countries this quarter and the balance of the year, launching CNN+, delivering of a full slate of highly anticipated games.”
Hogwarts Legacy was announced during a PS5 event in September 2020 with a reveal trailer that said the game would arrive in 2021. The game was later delayed until 2022, which is no blame to the studio as many games saw delays hit them due to the ongoing pandemic.
The Harry Potter-themed open-world RPG is set in the 1800s and will allow custom characters to take part in magic lessons, potion brewing, the sorting hat ceremony, and even games of Quidditch.
On the other end, Gotham Knights was also slated for a 2021 release and was also pushed into 2022 in an effort to “deliver the best possible experience for players.” Although things have remained quiet for the DC superhero game, this is signs that things are still moving forward as planned for the developer.
The co-op open-world Batman action game allows players to suit up as either Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, or Red Hood. Each character comes with their own style of gameplay. You won’t be able to don the Dark Knight’s cowl as in the game’s plot we learn that Batman is dead.
Delays are inevitable, but with the quiet surrounding the titles a 2022 release date was in question, so it is good to hear Warner Bros. reiterate a 2022 release date is still happening. Check out the tweet below:
