Xbox is Reportedly Developing A Monster Hunter-Like Exclusive
Xbox is reportedly developing a Monster Hunter-like exclusive game. The game is currently codenamed Project Suerte and has brought in Halo Infinite co-developer Certain Affinity to work on the project.
The report first came from journalist Jeff Grubb and was later followed up by Windows Central. According to the reports the game has been in development since 2020 with a slated release in 2023 or 2024. The report states that Microsoft has looked into talking to developers to develop a game like Monster Hunter after the price tag of adding Capcom‘s Monster Hunter to the Game Pass library proved to be too high.
No other details have been released at this time, but Certain Affinity does have the team and tools under its belt to develop a respectable multiplayer game. The studio had mentioned last year, that they were working on an ambitious new game saying:
“Today we’re excited to reveal that we’re leading development on a new original IP,” read a statement. “Are we excited to take on a genre and style of game that we’ve always loved? Thrilled beyond words!”
Xbox has been making many moves as of late and is slowly becoming a powerhouse in the gaming industry. With the acquisition of Activision Blizzard and other studios, look for Xbox to look towards the future with more ambitious exclusives.
