Matt Reeves to Develop Batman Rogues Gallery Films and Series, Will Focus on Scarecrow, Clayface, and Professor Pyg
Matt Reeves looks to develop Batman Rogues Gallery films and series that will reportedly focus on Scarecrow, Clayface, and Professor Pyg. Reeves recently put out The Batman which was one of the most successful films for the Dark Knight and led to the Robert Pattinson-led film receiving a sequel with The Batman 2 confirmed along with a spinoff series of Colin Farrell‘s Penguin also in development. Reeves seems to be part of Warner Bros. Discovery‘s long-term DCEU plans as he will now be developing an extended universe with the Rogues Gallery projects.
The THR report also confirmed that Reeves is currently working with writers and directors to get these projects finalized. The Rogues Gallery projects should bode well for Reeves’ universe with his intricate storytelling and grounded look at these universes which provide a well-balanced adaptation for the property of the Rogues Gallery. Although Paul Dano‘s The Riddler was not a hit with every DC fan, his darker and psychological take shows the potential of what he can do with these characters. Another good example would be the short but stellar look at Barry Keoghan‘s interpretation of The Joker in the end credit/deleted scenes of The Batman.
No release windows for the upcoming projects have been revealed but with all the wheels turning and the mention of writers and directors already involved, these projects could have updates coming our way soon.
