Marvel’s Thunderbolts Lineup Revealed, Includes Red Guardian and The Winter Soldier
Marvelhas announced the full lineup of heroes for the upcoming Thunderbolts movie. They previously announced that Black Widow screenwriter Eric Pearson will be penning the script with Kevin Feige producing.
During the D23 Expo, Marvel Studios announced that the lineup joining the MCU’s Thunderbolts will include Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss) who will manage the team of heroes made up of Red Guardian (David Harbour), Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), US Agent (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko).
Most of these characters hail from different projects with Red Guardian, Yelena Belova, and Taskmaster who all appeared in Scarlett Johansson‘s Black Widow film. US Agent made his appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier alongside Winter Soldier who also featured Allegra de Fontaine. Ghost was seen during the events that unfolded in Ant-Man and the Wasp.
During the panel, Stan said to fans:
“These are my kinds of people. They look like a good troubled bunch and maybe I know a thing or two about that.”
Feige chimed in adding:
“Says a lot about the Thunderbolts when the beloved Winter Soldier is the most stable among them.”
In the comics, the Thunderbolts are a team made up of supervillains and anti-heroes who made their debut in The Incredible Hulk #449. They were created by Mark Bagley and Kurt Busiek. The team was founded by Baron Zemo. The team has seen many different Marvel characters come and go in the lineup of the Superhero team.
Plot details remain under wraps but with the lineup itself, this should have MCU fans glowing with excitement as some of our favorite MCU characters not only look to return to the big screen but will be teamed up together in what should prove to be a troublesome bunch. Stay tuned as more information becomes available.
