Violent Night Trailer Reveals “it’s Time for Some Season’s Beatings”

Universal Pictures has released a trailer for the upcoming holiday film Violent Night. In the film, we see David Harbour portray Santa Claus but if you are expecting the jolly old St. Nick, well you are partially right but Harbours Santa also takes his nice and naughty list to another level as he dishes out bloody holiday greetings when a young child being held hostage by crooks looking to score some money from the family vault put a damper on St. Nick’s present delivery.

Violent Night‘s official synopsis reads:

“When a team of mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage, the team isn’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus (David Harbour, Black Widow, Stranger Things series) is on the grounds, and he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.”

The film looks to be action-packed and bloody which should not come as a surprise as 87North was behind the equally high-octane films Nobody, John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, and Bullet Train. The film stars Harbour alongside John Leguizamo, Cam Gigandet, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, Edi Patterson, and Beverly D’Angelo.

The film was helmed by Tommy Wirkola with Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, and Guy Danella producing. Wirkola will helm the film working from a screenplay written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller.
