Joshua Williamson Takes Us On A Dark Ride for His Haunting New Series
Skybound Entertainment‘s new series Dark Ride was released today. The horror-themed comic series combines the scariest genre on Earth with the scariest place on Earth as writer Joshua Williamson, artist Andrei Bressan, and colorist Adriano Lucas introduce us to the theme park aptly named Devil Land.
Williamson joined us to talk about his new series and the premiere issue. Williamson is a New York Times Bestselling author who has penned hit series including Nailbiter, Birthright, and many DC titles including Batman, Robin, and most recently the Rogues miniseries under DC’s Black Label imprint.
In the new series, we see Williamson’s two loves come together as he combines his love of horror and theme parks to spin a new and unique tale of a theme park imbued with evil and the ominosity surrounding the family that owns it. Williamson also geeks out with us over our love of horror and our childhood entertainment that inspired our love of the genre. Everything he consumed at an early age has kept the flame lit that fueled this unique entry in the horror genre with a heightened sense of fear and dread that appeals to those who find fear behind the common things that might provide joy to others.
Dark Ride #1 is available at your favorite local shop today which also kicked off the new Tony Fleecs-led variant cover program that features brand-new homage covers for Dark Ride which will release throughout the first four issues of the series.
