Harley Quinn Season 3 Casts Harvey Guillén as Nightwing
HBO Max‘s animated series Harley Quinn features The Joker‘s former love interest break away from the toxic relationship and into her own full-fledged mainline character. The series has had a successful and memorably funny two seasons with a third on the way and season 3 is shaping up to bring some memorable characters into the fold announcing that Harvey Guillén has been cast as Nightwing.
With a spinoff featuring Kite Man in the works, season 3 looks to build its roster of hilarious takes on DC characters, having announced that James Gunn would be playing himself in the upcoming season, the addition of Nightwing is intriguing on its own and with Guillén bringing his talent and voice to the character, this is shaping up to be a portrayal many fans will enjoy.
Guillén is well known for his starring role in the FX series What We Do in the Shadows, and is also set to star in a pair of highly-anticipated projects that includes Dreamworks‘ Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and the live-action film adaptation of Blue Beetle.
Not much information has been released as to the extent of Nightwing’s role in the upcoming season, but with a high-profile talent like Guillén, we can only hope this is a recurring role. Having been introduced in Detective Comics #38, Nightwing Dick Grayson has taken the mantle of both Robin and Nightwing and has been portrayed in many mediums including the live-action series Titans.
The Harley Quinn series stars Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Ron Funchess, Tony Hale, Matt Oberg, Jason Alexander, Christopher Meloni, Diedrich Bader, Jim Rash, James Adomian, Andy Daly, and Briana Cuoco.
Co-creator Patrick Schumacher teased at SXSW this past week that the third season would be premiering “soon,” so we can expect to get more news on Harley Quinn including a release date sometime soon.
