The Harley Quinn universe is expanding as series co-creator Patrick Schumacker just announced that a spinoff series starring Kite Man is currently in development and will be headed to HBO Max. The series was announced during SXSW and along with the highly-anticipated third season of the original series, fans now have a spinoff in the works to look forward to.

The series is tentatively titled Noonan’s and will follow Kite Man after buying Noonan’s bar. The iconic hangout spot for Gotham City’s criminal underworld is an iconic location that debuted in 1993 and received its name from hitman Sean Noonan.

Discussing the series, Schumacker said:

“He tries to run the bar by himself, but it doesn’t turn out so easy. We have Harley and Ivy appear in the first episode, but after that we have with different goons and villains appearing every episode like Lex Luthor and Bane. It will be kind of like Cheers for supervillains.”

The Harley Quinn series has been a refreshing and comedic take on the Bat-centric characters and this sounds like another great concept that should expand on the ridiculousness of the series that we love. The Harley Quinn series stars Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Ron Funchess, Tony Hale, Matt Oberg, Jason Alexander, Christopher Meloni, Diedrich Bader, Jim Rash, James Adomian, Andy Daly, and Briana Cuoco.
