Gotham Knights Gameplay Features Nightwing and Red Hood, PS4 and Xbox One Versions Canceled
Warner Bros. Montreal has released new gameplay for Gotham Knights and it features two members of the bat family with Nightwing and Red Hood showing off their moves in a 13+ minute gameplay video. Along with the gameplay walkthrough, the studio announced that Gotham Knights is available for preorder.
The walkthrough was introduced by Gotham Knights game director Geoff Ellenor and takes players to the city streets that Nightwing is patrolling. He is then joined by Red Hood where players get a glimpse of what the co-op elements of the game will deliver.
In the video, we see Nightwing will be an agile character that uses acrobatics and flips to close the distance between himself and enemies to deliver blows with his batons. He will also have special moves that cause elemental damage such as the “Elemental Shockwave” and will paralyze enemies in a cryo status. You will also be able to maneuver through rooftops with Nightwing’s glider called “The Flying Trapeze.” This should make for fun, fast-paced gameplay that suits what we have seen Nightwing bring to the table many times before.
Red Hood is more of a mysterious character. His combat focuses on using his dual pistols loaded with non-lethal ammunition and although he is very capable of landing a solid blow on his enemies, or even sticking an explosive on enemies should he get that close, his combat is very range oriented with his pistols being his preferred weapon. He also has the ability to leap off his soul energy mid-air.
Along with these characters’ combat and co-op gameplay, we get a look at other activities within the game and The Belfrey which serves as a base of operations for the bat family. Players will be able to use the Bat-computer that gives players access to a map of the city and there you will be able to activate challenges and move forward in the story. Players will also be able to upgrade their gear or craft new gear while also changing playable characters’ cosmetics, some of which are shown off in the gameplay walkthrough.
Warner Bros. has also announced multiple editions of Gotham Knights that are available for preorder. Check them out below:

It was also announced that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game have been canceled. Warner Bros. included a note during the gameplay walkthrough making the announcement. No specific reasoning was given, other than to say that it would “provide players with the best possible gameplay experience.”
Gotham Knights is set to release on October 25th, 2022 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Check out the gameplay walkthrough below:
