Evil Dead Rise Red Band Trailer Delivers a Bloody Look at the Deadites Return
Warner Bros. Pictures has revealed a red band trailer for Evil Dead Rise. The bloody trailer gives us a look at the return of the deadites as the long-standing fan-favorite franchise makes a return with the deadites making their way into the big city this time around. The previous films have always delivered an isolated horror set in a cabin in the woods but this time around, the infestation looks to be influencing the unsuspecting people of a big city in what looks to be a bar-setting entry into the influential franchise.
The trailer does not hold anything back and has certainly given fans a blood-soaked look at the horrors that are coming to the family that will be falling victim to the Necronomicon. We see a young woman who visits her older sister in her Los Angeles apartment. Her sister is a single mother of three children and things take a sinister turn as they come across the book that has unleashed forces of evil time and time again. As we see the demonic possession unleashed and affecting her older sister, it is up to our protagonist Beth to save her sister and prevent from hell being unleashed on earth.
The film’s official synopsis reads:
“In the fifth Evil Dead film, a road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A apartment. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building. It gives rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.”
The film stars Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher, Jarden Daniels, Gabrielle Echols, Billy Reynolds-McCarthy, and Tai Wano. The film is directed by Lee Cronin who was handpicked by Sam Raimi who is the mastermind behind the horror legacy. Fede Álvarez delivered us the respectable 2013 reboot but with Cronin’s approval from Raimi himself and the praise of the face of the franchise, Bruce Campbell. The film seems to be treading new ground while honoring it’s legacy set forth by the groundbreaking films that have been a trailblazing franchise for the horror genre.
Earth will be drenched in blood when Evil Dead Rise arrives in theaters on April 21, 2023.
