The Flash: Stephen Amell Reprising Role of Green Arrow for Flash’s Final Season
The CW‘s Arrowverse is set to come full circle with the final season of The Flash. This could not be done without the person who jumpstarted Arrowverse when Arrow premiered in 2012 on the network. Stephen Amell will be reprising his role of Oliver Queen/Arrow for the final season of The Flash. The news comes shortly after it was announced other familiar faces would be returning with David Ramsey, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Sendhil Ramamurhty also returning. Other notables returning will also be Nicole Maines and Javicia Leslie who return as Dreamer and in Leslie’s case, Red Death.
Since Arrow lost his life during the crossover events ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’. The Arrowverse as a whole has gone through a rough stretch and we now stand with Grant Gustin‘s Flash as the lone standing series which will usher the final events of the Arrowverse. The Flash premiered shortly after the flagship series was launched with Arrow which served as the introduction of Gustin’s Barry Allen. The duo served as the foundation of the universe which took a big hit with the loss of Amell when Oliver sacrificed himself to protect the Multiversal threat.
That being said, with Amell’s Oliver Queen having died, how he will return is a big question as the Multiverse was condensed into Earth Prime during the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths.
The easy theory would be that Barry will be doing what Barry tends to do and that’s messing with the timeline, so it can be assumed we see Barry going back in time or perhaps, just perhaps we see the events that end the final season bring these characters back to life somehow? Would they? Dare they?! Oliver’s death did leave a gaping hole in the lives of our heroes but what their plans are, is a mystery but it sure is exciting to know that Amell will be donning the green hood once more.
The Flash Season 9 will premiere on February 8, 2023.
