8-Bit Mammoth and Mega Ran Rock the Crescent Ballroom with Cowboy Bebop and Video Game Classics
8-Bit Mammoth and Mega Ran brought the beats to the Crescent Ballroom which turned out to be just another holiday miracle as they not only brought the crowd sounds of one of the best-composed anime series in Cowboy Bebop but still managed to surge an electrifying performance that hit on some of our favorite video game classics. The night was full of nostalgia with that special touch that you can only get from these legendary performers.

3, 2, 1 LET’S JAM! NBA JAM, that is! While TANK! From Cowboy Bebop is what the audience was expecting, 8-Bit Mammoth has a slew of gaming IPs under their musical belts. Whether it’s some funky NBA JAM and depending on the night, 8-17 member ensemble individual solos, or some wacky music from the Mario Universe such as Luigi’s Mansion, the first half was a great introduction to the range 8-Bit provides their audience.
The second half was dedicated to the glorious neo-western anime that lives rent-free in our heads and hearts. Many call this series a space opera and after the night’s performance, the best way to describe it from this day forth can only be a Space Jam, but ya know, copyrights and all that, so all in all, the roof was ready to lift off the place from the thrilling sounds celebrating one of the best pieces of anime to ever be created.

Many of you were sitting at home, kicking your feet up after the holiday hustle, probably watching Miracle on 34th Street, but for me along with the lucky fans that attended this show. We witnessed a Miracle on 2nd Ave thanks to 8-Bit Mammoth and Mega Ran. If you ever see these names in your area, do yourself a favor and check them out to 3,2,1 JAM!
