Dave Bautista Pitches Himself for Gear of War Movie
Dave Bautista has made it perfectly clear that he wants Netflix to acknowledge him for their upcoming adaptation of Gears of War. The Guardians of the Galaxy and former WWE star went as far as to take to social media in full GOW armor saying “I Can’t make this any easier.”
Batista also tagged the official Gears of War account and Batista is taking this timing to make it known he wants in as the streamer announced recently that they plan on adapting the hit video game franchise into a feature film and adult animated series. Batista has previously tried being a part of this universe as he has previously revealed that he passed on a role in the Fast and Furious franchise to pitch a Gears of War movie.
Batista donned the armor during a 2019 Gears of War 5 ad when he was announced as a playable character which makes it safe to say he is a fan of the franchise to an extent. He has also made it known that Marcus Fenix is his “dream role” and looking at the video, we think it’s his dream role as well.
Gears of War was released as an Xbox exclusive in 2006 and attempts at an adaptation have come and gone multiple times since 2007. This seems to be the strongest push at an adaptation since then and Batista is no stranger to working with the streamer as he led the cast of rag-tag mercenaries in Zack Snyder‘s Army of the Dead. Whether Netflix will answer the call or not remains to be seen, but the people are in your corner Dave!
