Control 2 Announced By Remedy Entertainment
Remedy Entertainment has announced that they have entered an agreement with 505 Games to co-develop Control 2. The sequel to 2019’s hit game Control, the studios will come together to bring the sequel title to new-gen consoles and PC. The sequel was previously known as “Codename Heron” but now that the confirmation of the sequel has been made, the developers will undoubtedly begin to share their progress with fans during the development process.
Rami and Raffi Galante, co-CEOs of Digital Bros Group/505 Games shared their excitement in a press release, saying:
“We are excited to deepen our cooperation with Remedy and continue the success story of Control together. Since its launch in 2019, Control has sold over 3 million copies. Control is the biggest investment 505 Games has ever made, so it has a special place in our hearts. We are grateful to the whole player community that has made Control such a long-lasting and loved game, and are even more excited to bring out Control 2,” Rami and Raffi Galante continue.”
Remedy Entertainment’s Game Director Mikael Kasurinen notes that when they began development of Control, they did so leaping “into the unknown,” and now that they look to bring a sequel to the game, Control 2 will see them taking “another leap into the unknown.”
Now that we can confirm the “bigger budget” project Control game was in fact the sequel, we can look forward to where the unknown will take the developers as well as information on the multiplayer spinoff within the Control franchise that is also currently in the works.
Control 2 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. No release date has been given for the sequel.
