Hit Series Upload Renewed for Season 3 at Prime Video
Prime Video‘s hit sci-fi series Upload has been renewed for season 3 at the streamer. With fans being left with many questions at the conclusion of season 2, they can now look forward to having some of those answered when the series returns for another season. The series focuses on an alternate near future where people can pay to have a digital copy of themselves uploaded into a digital afterlife.
The series was developed by The Office and Park and Recreation‘s Greg Daniels. The series stars Robbie Amell as “Nathan,” Andy Allo as “Nora,” Kevin Bigley as “Luke”, Allegra Edwards as “Ingrid,” Zainab Johnson as “Aleesha,” Owen Daniels as “A.I. Guy,” and Josh Banday as “Ivan,” and Andrea Rosen as “Lucy.” Upload is executive produced by creator Daniels and Howard Klein. The series also stars Kevin Bigley, Zainab Johnson, Owen Daniels, Josh Banday, and Andrea Rosen.
Season 1 of Upload was “set in a technologically advanced future where hologram phones, 3D food printers, and automated grocery stores are the norm. Most uniquely, humans can choose to be “uploaded” into a virtual afterlife.”
Season 2 expanded this concept and followed “Nathan is at a crossroads in his (after) life… his ex-girlfriend Ingrid has unexpectedly arrived to Lakeview hoping to strengthen their relationship, but his heart still secretly yearns for his customer service angel Nora. Meanwhile, Nora is off the grid and involved with the anti-tech rebel group “The Ludds.” Season Two is packed with new near-future concepts, including Lakeview’s newest in-app digital baby program called, “prototykes,” and other satirical glimpses of the technological advances and headaches to come.”
Daniels shared his excitement to see the series continue, saying:
“I’m thrilled to continue the story of Nathan and Nora and the other residents of Lakeview and near-future America as they try to have fun and do the right thing in both the real and virtual worlds.”
Seasons 1 & 2 of Upload are available on Prime Video now. No release window has been released for season 3.
