The Afterlife Gets an Upgrade With the Upload Season 2 Trailer
Prime Video has released the official trailer for the highly-anticipated season 2 of the original sci-fi series Upload. The series was created by Greg Daniels and stars Robbie Amell as a young man whose conscience is uploaded to a digital afterlife after suddenly dying unexpectedly.
The new season is set to pick up right where we left off in season 1 as Nathan Brown sees his girlfriend (Allega Edwards) having given up her life to be uploaded to the capitalistic afterlife to be closer to him. This only complicates Nathan’s situation as he and his digital companion a.k.a. angel, Nora (Andy Allo) had begun to act on their attraction for one another but now feel like they should move on with their “lives”, both living and afterlife. The trailer also teases how Ingrid will adapt to her new afterlife and the “prototykes” she will be testing which are virtual babies.
Here’s Upload’s official synopsis for Season Two:
“In Upload Season Two, Nathan is at a crossroads in his (after) life… his ex-girlfriend Ingrid has unexpectedly arrived to Lakeview hoping to strengthen their relationship, but his heart still secretly yearns for his customer service angel Nora. Meanwhile, Nora is off the grid and involved with the anti-tech rebel group “The Ludds.” Season Two is packed with new near-future concepts, including Lakeview’s newest in-app digital baby program called, “prototykes,” and other satirical glimpses of the technological advances and headaches to come.”
Prime Video also released some images of the upcoming season to accompany the trailer which you can check out below. Upload is executive produced by Daniels alongside Howard Klein. The series also stars Kevin Bigley Zainab Johnson, Owen Daniels, Josh Banday, and Andrea Rosen.
