The Batman’s 5-Minute Deleted Scene Shows Joker’s Face and First Meeting with Batman
Matt Reeves has revealed a 5-minute deleted scene from The Batman that reveals more about the director’s film including the relationship between Batman (Robert Pattinson) and The Joker (Barry Keoghan). The scene itself was a prize in the “rataalada” puzzle from Riddler’s secret website.
Fans will face three new riddles that they must solve to get the deleted scene. The riddles are listed below:
- First riddle: “To wit: a wild card in the truest sense”
- Second riddle: “Once you’ve been set up, it hits you at the end. Straight on.”
- Final riddle: “It’s not a joke, but sometimes you need to shout it twice to really mean it”
The answers to the riddles are “Joker”, “Punchline”, and “Ha” respectively, although the order is randomized, so be wary of the riddle that comes up first for you. Once you answer the questions correctly, you will be rewarded with the five-minute deleted scene that shows Batman visiting The Joker at Arkham Asylum and asking the infamous villain for help with understanding the Riddler (Paul Dano). The theatrical cut only features Keoghan’s Joker in the last scenes of the film with the deleted scene expanding on the film’s events and Batman already having met The Joker.

The Batman also stars Zoë Kravitz, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, and John Turturro. The Batman is currently in theaters. Check out the deleted scene below:
