How I Met Your Father Season 2 Premiering in January
Hulu has announced that How I Met Your Father season 2 is coming back sooner rather than later with the official announcement of the series returning to the streaming platform in early 2023. The second season of the hit How I Met Your Mother spinoff series will arrive on January 24, 2023, with a 20-episode season.
The news was dropped by series star Hilary Duff who took to social media to announce the premiere date, saying: “I’ve been dying to tell you guys when Season 2 of How I Met Your Father premieres, and they’re finally letting me! Season 2 premieres on January 24th on Hulu. Let’s go!”

The series follows a new group of friends within the same universe as the original series and takes place eight years after How I Met Your Mother‘s finale. In the year 2050, 58-year-old Sophie portrayed by Kim Cattrall tells her son the story of how she met his father in 2022. The series then takes us to the present-day adventures in a similar formula as the original series that shares the life experiences Sophie and her group of friends experience. Starring alongside Duff & Cattrall is Chris Lowell, Tom Ainsley, Francia Raise, Tien Tran, and Suraj Sharma.
The first season introduced us to a relatable cast and the series showed an array of modern problems that are relatable to today’s audience. It also gave us a more personable perspective as we did not only get to connect with present-day Sophie and her wheelhouse of ups and downs in her career and love life but we also have the personified connection to her future self with Cattrall appearing on camera and giving us a face to the voice unlike How I Met Your Mother.

How I Met Your Father is written by Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Attacker. The series is executive produced by Attacker, Berger, series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, Pam Fryman, and Adam Londy. Duff also executive produces the series.
