HALO INFINITE Reaches A Record-Breaking 270K Concurrent Players On Steam
The Halo Infinite multiplayer beta has only been out a short while and is already putting itself in the record books. The Video Games Chronicle has reported that 343 Industries’ FPS space shooter has already amassed an impressive 270,000 concurrent players on Steam. This marks the first Xbox Studios game to have reached this feat and in such a short period of time.
What really impresses me is that they were able to rake in these numbers after no promotion as it was a surprise announcement. Not that you need to spend too much time marketing a game as popular as Halo. The announcement was made during the Xbox 20th Anniversary Event. They also announced that any progressions, cosmetics, experience, and challenges completed would carry over to the game’s launch. In the tweet below you can see how Halo Infinite measured up against other popular Xbox Studios titles:
It ranked in fourth with its player peak rankings on Monda falling behind Couter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, and PUBG. These are usual powerhouses on Steam so Xbox has nothing to feel bad about.
Halo Infinite launches for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on December 8.
