First Futurama Trailer is Here and Brings Back the Planet Express Crew
Hulu has released the first Futuramatrailer and shows the Planet Express crew returning for the continuation of the beloved animated series. The comedy series takes us into the future and follows the delivery crew as they go on adventures into the corners of space and deal with an assortment of problems.
The series was comedy gold while also featuring some heart-wrenching moments and won over fans who followed the crew for years. Hulu recently tried a full season drop with The Bear season 2 and although its ratings have been strong, Futurama will stick to the traditional weekly release.
Futurama Revival synopsis
After a brief ten-year hiatus, Futurama has crawled triumphantly from the cryogenic tube, it’s full original cast and satirical spirit intact. The ten all-new episodes of season eleven have something for everyone.
New viewers will be able to pick up the series from here, while long-time fans will recognize payoffs to decades-long mysteries – including developments in the epic love story of Fry and Leela, the mysterious contents of Nibbler’s litter box, the secret history of evil Robot Santa, and the whereabouts of Kif and Amy’s tadpoles. Meanwhile, there’s a whole new pandemic in town as the crew explores the future of vaccines, bitcoin, cancel culture, and streaming tv.
Futurama’s story
It all kicked off in the 90s when Philip J. Fry voiced by Billy West found himself falling into a cryogenic chamber that kept him on ice for thousands of years. He awakens to a completely new world with the universe now a common ground for not only humans but a number of other species that now co-exist among us. He crosses paths with Professor Farnsworth who is also voiced by West. This brings into the group that will go on to be his new family and includes Turanga Leela voiced by Katey Sagal, Bender voiced by John DiMaggio, Amy Wong voiced by Lauren Tom, and Hermes Conrad voiced by Phil LaMarr.
The series was created by Matt Groening and was developed by Groening alongside David X. Cohen. Groening and Cohen executive produced the revival series alongside Ken Keeler and Claudia Katz. Also starring in the series is Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, and David Herman.
