Barbie Trailer Gives Us Our First Look at Margot Robbie in A Barbie World

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Barbie. The Margot Robbie-led film featuring a blockbuster lineup of stars is set to bring the popular world of Mattel‘s Barbie to life. The trailer takes us to the plastic and fantastic world of the popular doll for a film that has been in the headlines often as many stars gathered to the project and the veil was slowly lifted for the highly-anticipated film.

Starring alongside Robbie is Ryan Gosling, Simu Lu, Ariana Greenblatt, America Ferrera, Ncuti Gatwa, Issa Rae, Hari Nef, Michael Cera, Emma Mackey, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Perlman, Emerald Fennell, Sharon Rooney, Scott Evans, Ana Cruz Kayne, Connor Swindells, Ritu Arya, Jamie Demetriou, and Marisa Abela. The film is helmed by Greta Gerwig who also wrote the script alongside Noah Baumbach.

The trailer gives us a look at Robbie’s Barbie in a vintage swimsuit look popular from the 1950s. The trailer then cuts to more quick shots of the film and other cast members from the star-studded cast in the film. Given the background of the doll, we are expecting a fun film but with Gerwig and Baumbach penning the script, a life lesson is sure to be found within the film and should be a wonderful slice of life film with what we hope will be a real and important message.

Barbie will premiere in theaters on July 21, 2023.
