Pokémon Says Goodbye to Ash and Pikachu and Reveals A New Series
Pokémonsays goodbye to Ash and Pikachu as they reveal that after 25 years, the now Pokémon World Champion will leave the series on January 13, 2023, and make way for a new young hero with the reveal of a new series. Ash and Pikachu have been through many journeys and come across many different people, Pokémon, and challenges. They have now achieved their dream and prepare to make way for the next generation with a brand-new hero and cast of characters.
The Pokémon Company made the announcement that January 13th would mark the beginning of the duo’s final chapter. The 11 episodes will be the final send-off for Ash and Pikachu as the series celebrates their achievements from the past 25 years. Fans will also be glad to see some returning faces as it was revealed that Brock and Misty would be featured. The Pokémon saga is far from over as The Pokémon Company also revealed that a brand-new series will pick up later in the year.
The untitled series will be set in the Paldea region featured in the recently released Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet games that even with a rocky launch, have managed to be one of Nintendo‘s bestselling Pokémon games. The series will feature two new trainers in Liko and Roy and their starter Pokémon from the Paldea region, Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Sprigatito.
As our childhood’s 25-year journey comes to a close for many of us. It is exciting to be present for the start of a new journey that will surely be the beginning of another young fan’s journey that will likely span years just as ours did. Now that we are the old trainers yelling at clouds, we get to sit back and watch the new generation take this everlasting series that has invaded all mediums of entertainment to new heights with new heroes, new Pokémon, and new stories.
