Marvel has announced that Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel will be a fallen hero in Spider-Man #26. Amazing Spider-Man #26: Marvel Announces Death of Ms. Marvel

The internet has been ablaze with shock and awe since it was revealed by EW that these events that have been teased by the publisher would transpire but it should not come as a big surprise as many heroes have fallen and returned time and time again and Khan’s death making headlines and getting the recognition it has by the publisher serves as Ms. Marvel elevating to the next level of icon status among the many Marvel Heroes in the publisher’s library.

The series by writer Zeb Wells and artist John Romita Jr. Has not only teased a big death but also became a home for Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel as she keeps a close eye on Norman Osborn by interning at Oscorp to ensure the Green Goblin does not resurface and while doing so, the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has had help protecting his city. All good things must come to an end and what will now become an iconic key issue.

Marvel’s description of Spider-Man #26 reads:

Now fully in the present, the Emissary has returned and his power is so far beyond Spider-Man’s abilities. The heroes may figure out a way to win, but the cost of victory will be so immense that you may hope they don’t…

Marvel to Honor Ms. Marvel in Upcoming Issue

This is not the end of Ms. Marvel and her memory will be celebrated in the upcoming issue of Fallen Friend: The Death of Ms. Marvel which will celebrate the life of the superhero as heroes from around the Marvel Universe gather to honor the fallen hero. The issue will bring together not only heroes from the Marvel Universe but also superstar creators, all of who have played a role in the rise of Ms. Marvel with G. Willow Wilson, Saladin Ahmed, and Mark Waid uniting to remember Khan.

Fallen Friend the death of ms marvel

Wilson is one of the creators of the series and Ahmed having penned the character’s most recent solo series has much to offer in honoring Khan. Of course, Waid’s hand in Khan’s time in his runs of Avengers and Champions was also pivotal to Khan’s legacy.

This is a momentous occasion that will affect all True Believers. This loss will be felt across all corners of the Marvel Universe and how long these effects are felt remains to be seen as we wait and wonder if Khan will return as we’ve seen other heroes do or if this death will be one we feel for quite some time. The decision to kill Kamala Khan has been noted as controversial by some fans and others feel the timing aligned with the upcoming MCU film release could be bad timing. It remains to be seen where the publisher has planned and if or when we will see Kamala Khan again.
