A New Animated Anthology Series Titled THE BOYS DIABOLICAL Has Been Announced – With stories by Andy Samberg, Seth Rogen, Awkwafina, and more.
Billy Butcher himself who is famously portrayed by Karl Urban took to a video announcement to let fans know that Prime Video had announced an eight-episode animated anthology series at CCXP Worlds 2021 set in The Boys universe titled The Boys Diabolical.
The anthology series will reveal different interpretations of the stories set in The Boys universe and will have stories written by some very talented individuals that include The Boys co-creator Garth Ennis, Awkwafina, Eliot Glaze, and Ilana Glazer, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Simon Racioppa, Justin Roiland, and Ben Bayouth, Andy Samberg, and Aisha Tyler. This is an all-star group of writers for the anthology series and talents from all forms of entertainment should give us some very different and interesting takes on the stories set in the universe of The Boys.
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke, who is also set to executive produce Diabolical gave a brief look at what fans can expect from this animated jump into The Boys universe, saying:
“Surprise! We’re almost finished with eight episodes of our animated series, Diabolical. We gathered together some incredible creators and we gave them one rule…just kidding, there’s no rules. They blew the doors off it, delivering eight completely unexpected, funny, shocking, gory, moist, emotional episodes. You think The Boys is nuts? Wait till you see this.”

“Ever since we saw the animated film The Animatrix, a series of short animated films set in the universe of The Matrix, we’ve wanted to rip it off. Today that dream has come true.”

Fans will get all-new stories, with all the fun and outrageous humor of The Boys that they know and love—plus some great surprises,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon Studios. “Eric, Seth, and Evan have assembled incredible talent to bring Diabolical to life, and we can’t wait for our Prime Video customers to see this new, wild ride.”
Along with Kripke, Rogen, and Goldberg, the series is executive produced by Gareth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Simon Racioppa, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ori Marmur, Ken F. Levin, Jason Netter, Michaela Starr, Loreli Alanís, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, and Ben Kalina.
The Boys is based on the comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson that had a six-year run with a spinoff series Herogasm in which we met Soldier Boy who Jensen Ackles is set to portray in the third season of The Boys.
