Yellowjackets Season 2 Trailer Brings the Darkness and Mystery
Showtime has released a teaser trailer for Yellowjackets season 2. The second season of the series will bring the same darkness and mystery we saw in the previous season as we unveil the layers of what occurred during the time the passengers of the plane were stranded out in the woods. As we see more of the two timelines bridging the gap between the teenage soccer team’s survival of a plane crash and the current events unfolding 25 years later. One thing remains certain, the survivors will not easily talk about what happened during their time in the woods.
Season 2 may be providing some answers as we see in the trailer that Juliette Lewis‘ Natalie decides to try regression therapy in hopes of accessing some of the memories that have been lost due to the traumatic events she survived through after the plane crash. As season 1 already tested her, these lost memories might only add to the pain and suffering she has already fallen subject to as her mind hopes to forget.
The first season found tons of success in both ratings from audiences and critics and hopes to continue in its path with an average of 5M viewers weekly as it became one of the most-streamed series in the history of Showtime. The series was created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson who received seven Emmy nominations for their work on Yellowjackets and has led to the series already getting a season 3 renewal ahead of the season 2 release.
Starring alongside Lewis is Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Ella Purnell, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Sophie Nelisse, Steven Krueger, Kevin Alves, and Warren Kole. They are joined by new cast members Elijah Wood, Lauren Ambrose, Jason Ritter, Nuha Jes Izman, Nicole Maines, Francois Arnaud, and Nina Sondaya.
Yellowjackets season 2 will premiere on Showtime on March 24, 2023.
