John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando Gets Prequel Comic with Toxic Commando: Rise of the Sludge God

Dark Horse Comics has teamed up with Saber Interactive to bring readers a prequel comic titled Toxic Commando: Rise of the Sludge God to life. Toxic Commando: Rise of the Sludge God takes readers on a journey into a world filled with terror, serving as an introduction to the upcoming game developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando.

Written by Michael Moreci, known for his work on Stranger Things: Kamchatka and Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories, and featuring artwork by Alberto J. Albuquerque, whose work includes titles like Mystery Girl and Robert E. Howard’s Savage Sword, lettering by Nate Piekos, who has previously worked on titles such as Stranger Things and Black Hammer: Visions, the collaborative team brings their expertise to create a masterful introduction into the upcoming title from Saber Interactive.

Toxic Commando: Rise of the Sludge God transports readers to a world where the search for clean energy unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. As Obsidian CEO Leon Dorsey unwittingly awakens this sludgey evil, chaos ensues, threatening humanity’s future. In a race against time, a private group of commandos emerges as humanity’s last hope in the face of a toxic future.

Saber’s upcoming John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando will be an FPS co-op shooter that lets you team up with your friends to take on the Sludge God and their horde to send them back to hell. The game has an anticipated release date of 2024 which will be available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as PC.
