The Witcher 3 Gameplay Trailer Reveals New Features Coming to New-Gen Update
CD Projekt Red revealed gameplay of the upcoming new-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The upcoming update is set to bring new upgrades and features to the PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S version of the game. The studio revealed during the CD Projekt Red Twitch live stream all the upgrades coming to the new version of the game in December.
From upgraded visuals, cross-progression, new quests, and more. The Witcher 3 is gearing up to feel like a brand-new adventure. On the visuals front, CDPR shared that players will get to choose from 30 FPS with ray tracing to 60 FPS without ray tracing. This option will be available on all three new-gen consoles. The previously announced additional content based on Netflix‘s The Witcher series will also be a welcome addition that will reward players with an armor based on Henry Cavill‘s Geralt and also a new outfit for Dandelion that will give him the look of the live-action series’ Jaskier.
The cross-progression coming to The Witcher 3 will give players the peace of mind of playing on whichever console they feel like at the time without fear of starting from the beginning should they wish to change things up. A neat feature coming to PS5 is the implementation of haptic feedback which will use the haptic feedback technology from the PS5 to give players a realistic vibration system that adapts depending on what triggers the vibration.
Other improvements include the addition of different a different button to wield magic which is a nice fluid upgrade for those looking to keep from hopping between combat and the menu. New improvements are also coming to the min-map which will make navigating the world and removing unwanted icons easier. All this will come on top of the minor improvements from CDPR and addressing some bugs on quests along with performance issues.
The Witcher 3‘s new-gen update comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on December 14, 2022.
