Nintendo has released a new trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie during their live-stream event today. The Chris Pratt-led animated film will see Bowser(Jack Black) unleashing a fiery warpath on the world of the popular video game franchise. The film has a star-studded cast set to voice some of the characters that have been a part of possibly the biggest video game franchise. Second only to the Pokémon franchise.
Joining Pratt and Black will be Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
The first-look teaser introduced us to the Mushroom Kingdom we would be seeing when the film premieres but the new trailer dives even deeper into the magical world and gives us a full glimpse of the universe as Bowser and his Koopas look to take on our heroes.
The film was helmed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic working from a script penned by Matthew Fogel. Illumination produced the film through founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Shigeru Miyamoto on behalf of Nintendo.
