The Super Mario Bros. Movie New Trailer Shows Off the Nintendo Icons taking on Bowser
Nintendo has released a new trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie during their live-stream event today. The Chris Pratt-led animated film will see Bowser(Jack Black) unleashing a fiery warpath on the world of the popular video game franchise. The film has a star-studded cast set to voice some of the characters that have been a part of possibly the biggest video game franchise. Second only to the Pokémon franchise.
Joining Pratt and Black will be Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
The first-look teaser introduced us to the Mushroom Kingdom we would be seeing when the film premieres but the new trailer dives even deeper into the magical world and gives us a full glimpse of the universe as Bowser and his Koopas look to take on our heroes.
The film was helmed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic working from a script penned by Matthew Fogel. Illumination produced the film through founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Shigeru Miyamoto on behalf of Nintendo.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie will arrive in theatres on April 7th, 2023.
