The Lost Girls Trailer Reveals a Generational Story of a Family Who Cannot Escape the Allure of Peter Pan
Vertical Entertainment has released a trailer for the upcoming film The Lost Girls. The film joins a lineup of many adaptations of Peter Pan that have been released over the years. This particular film looks to bring a new twist to the classic tale as it touches on a generational story that sees a family struggling to escape from the allure of the boy that never grows up.
The film is based on the novel by Laurie Fox. The film is helmed by Livia De Paolis and will tell the story of four generations of Darling girls who are attempting to cut ties with Peter Pan. Wendy (Emily Carey/De Paolis) still struggles with breaking her bond with Peter and her daughter Berry (Ella-Rae Smith) is on the verge of falling under the influence of Peter as she did along with her mother, grandmother Jane (Joely Richardson), and great-grandmother (Vanessa Redgrave).
Here is the official synopsis for the film:
“Inspired by the classic tale of Peter Pan, The Lost Girls chronicles four generations of Darling women as they struggle in the aftermath of their adventures with Peter Pan (Louis Partridge) in Neverland. Like her grandmother (Vanessa Redgrave) and her mother Jane (Joely Richardson) before her, Wendy (Emily Carey and Livia De Paolis) must escape Pan’s hold on her and the promise he desperately wants her to keep. As her daughter Berry (Ella-Rae Smith) comes into Peter’s orbit, Wendy must fight to save her relationship with her daughter while reconciling her legacy.”
The film will also star Parker Sawyers, Iain Glen, Julian Ovenden, Louis Partridge, Lorraine Tai, and Siobhan Hewlett.
The Lost Girls will arrive in theaters and VOD on June 17th, 2022. Check out the trailer below:
