House of the Dragon Trailer Reveals a Worthy Successor to Game of Thrones
HBO has revealed the first trailer for the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon. The series will focus on the fall of House Targaryen in what is set to be another vicious entry in the Game of Thrones universe. The trailer should give viewers a good indicator of what they can expect when the series premieres, from what we saw, it looks to be a worthy successor of Game of Thrones.
HBO‘s official description of the series reads:
“Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen.”
The series stars Matt Smith, Rhys Ifans, Olivia Cooke. Paddy Considine, Emma D’Arcy, Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, Savannah Steyn, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, and Sonoya Mizuno. The series is based on Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin‘s novel Fire & Blood.
The series will work its way up to the Targaryen civil war, Dance of Dragons. Fans of Game of Thrones will know heavily influenced the series, and we will, of course, see plenty of dragons and tension within the House Targaryen that should make for an intriguing series to check out.
