THE JURASSIC LEAGUE Reimagines the Justice League as Prehistoric Heroes
DC Comics has announced a new mini-series starring the Justice League, but this isn’t your average Justice League as our heroes are getting a prehistoric makeover for the six-issue mini-series titled The Jurassic League. The series will reimagine Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman along with villains such as The Joker as dinosaurs in a universe evolved from prehistoric dinosaurs.
DC’s exact words on this… “Defenders of Truth, Justice, and the Prehistoric Way.”
Per DC, the dino-superheroes will join forces with super-powered dinosaurs to “save a prehistoric Earth from the sinister machinations of Darkseid.” The series will be co-written by Daniel Warren Johnson and Juan Gedeon with Johnson illustrating the main covers and Gedeon providing the interior art for the series. This is sure to be a fun mini-series that will fit along the more wacky side of DC such as when Batman was turned into a monster truck… yep, check it out below:
“Jurassic League is all I want to draw: dinos and epic fights,” said Gedeon in a DC press release. “My own version of a 90s cartoon or videogame. Expect a story about survival, unity, and hope where the strong protect the weak in a world where danger lurks in every corner.”
“It’s been an absolute pleasure to join Juan Gideon in creating a new world for DC, complete with dinos, cavemen, and extinction-level events,” added Johnson in a DC press release. “Batsuar suplexes a Joker dilophosaurus, you’re welcome!”
The series brings us, Superman, as a Brachiosaur, Wonder Woman as a Triceratops, and Batman as an Allosaurus with our favorite Bat-centric villain, The Joker being reimagined as a Dilophosaurus with a vicious and colorful appearance.
Jurassic League #1 arrives at your local comic book shop and digitally on May 10th, 2022. Check out the main cover and interior art below:
