The DESTINY 2 THE WITCH QUEEN Dungeons Will Only Be Available With Digital Deluxe Edition Or Separate Purchase
Bungie’s Destiny 2 has been constantly releasing a ton of content since the game’s launch in the form of events, free updates, and paid expansions. The newest expansion The Witch Queen is set to drop early next year and it seems like the dungeons delivery method may be a tad different than before. The dungeons will be coming at an additional cost to players on top of the standard price for the expansion. However, if you choose to purchase the Deluxe Edition, the dungeons will be included.
Lead community manager for Bungie Chris Shannon confirmed this news on Reddit and gave details on the changes to accessing the Dungeons:
He did not beat around the bush and was pretty clear in his brief explanation. Dungeons will be available to those who purchase the Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Deluxe Edition which will cost $79.99. You get the expansion, access to the four seasons currently planned for 2022, and access to the two dungeons. If you purchase the base expansion, you will not get granted access to said Dungeons, and you will have to wait until further down the line when another method of purchasing the dungeons will become available. If you preordered the base expansion, don’t worry as you will have the option of upgrading to the Deluxe Edition.
If you are not familiar with the Dungeons in Destiny 2. They are a mixture of Strikes and Raids. They vary in length and complexity and are built for a 3 play strike team. There are currently only 3 dungeons available: The Shattered, Prophecy, and The Pit of Heresy. All were previously available with the Season Pass.
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is set to launch on February 22nd, 2022 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC
