The Boy and the Heron English Trailer Shines With All-Star Voice Cast

The highly anticipated film, The Boy and the Heron marks the return of renowned director Hayao Miyazaki after a decade-long hiatus. Created in collaboration with Studio Ghibli, this enchanting masterpiece has just released its official English-language trailer.

It features the talent of a stellar voiceover cast featuring Hollywood’s finest, including Christian Bale, Dave Bautista, Robert Pattinson, Gemma Chan, Willem Dafoe, Karen Fukuhara, Mark Hamill, and Florence Pugh, among others.

The Boy and the Heron made its debut in Japanese theaters on July 14, 2023, courtesy of Toho. Fortunately, fans in the U.S., UK, and Ireland won’t have to wait much longer, as the film is set to grace screens in these regions in December 2023.

This heartwarming tale follows the journey of Mahito, a 12-year-old boy who, after the tragic loss of his mother, finds solace in a new town. One fateful encounter with a talking heron sparks a magical adventure, as Mahito embarks on a quest to discover if his mother is still alive. Exploring an ancient tower, he is transported to a wondrous world where he must confront his grief and learn valuable life lessons.

Inspired by Genzaburo Yoshino‘s 1937 novel, The Boy and the Heron embodies Miyazaki’s distinctive touch, blending whimsy, emotion, and a touch of mystery.

Mark your calendars for December 8, 2023, as The Boy and the Heron lands in cinemas across the United States. Fans in the UK and Ireland can anticipate its arrival on December 26, 2023. Check out the trailer below:
