Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Trailer Brings A New Chapter Upon Us

20th Century Studios has released the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes trailer. The upcoming film delves into the state of the world following the death of Caesar, played by Andy Serkis. Despite the apes’ efforts to establish a cooperative society and build a better future, their plans have not unfolded as expected. Now, they find themselves thrust into a hostile environment, where their survival depends on their ability to fight for another day.

The film will focus on Cornelius, portrayed by Owen Teague, Caesar’s son who must grapple with the legacy of his father as a visionary leader who sought to revolutionize their community. As humanity descends into a primal state, the apes emerge as the most intelligent species on Earth. This newfound power raises questions about their dominion and their responsibility to build a superior civilization compared to the one that created them.

While the ape community embarks on a journey of self-discovery, they face constant threats that risk undoing the life they have painstakingly constructed, placing our main characters in mortal peril.

Freya Allan, Peter Macon, Kevin Durand, William H. Macy, Dichen Lachman, Sara Wiseman, and Eka Darville will also join the cast of the latest installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise. The film is helmed by director Wes Ball, known for his work on the Maze Runner films. In this new chapter, the planet of the apes embarks on an exciting new era, one that promises to be starkly distinct from the time when Caesar inspired his species to aspire to greater heights than the humans that once dominated the planet.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is currently scheduled to hit theaters on May 24, 2024. Check out the trailer below:
