The Boondock Saints Sequel in the Works with Reedus and Flanery Returning
The Boondock Saints are making a comeback and are set to return with a third entry in the film franchise, featuring the reprisal of roles by Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flannery as Murphy and Connor MacManus.
First reported by Deadline, the film, which has been confirmed to be in development, will see the original cast returning, although director Troy Duffy will not be helming the project. Instead, Duffy is venturing into continuing the Saint’s story through a series of books.

Thunder Road Pictures, known for their work on the John Wick series and the upcoming film Monkey Man, is attached to the project. They will be working closely with Dragonfly Films, the current rights holder of The Boondock Saints franchise.
This new film is described as a reimagining of the beloved franchise, which could bring a fresh perspective designed for both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
For those unfamiliar with The Boondock Saints, the franchise debuted in 1999 with the release of the first film. It follows the tale of two Irish brothers on a mission of righteous retribution as they combat the criminal underworld in their hometown. Despite its initial modest box office performance, the film gained a strong cult following, leading to a sequel, The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, a decade later.

Over the years, there have been discussions and attempts to further expand the franchise. These included plans for a potential TV series, The Boondock Saints: Origins, and a third installment subtitled Legion. While previous attempts faced challenges and setbacks, including the departure of key actors from the project, the franchise has persevered in other forms such as comic books penned by Duffy.
Get ready for a new chapter in The Boondock Saints saga and stay tuned as more information is revealed.
