Magma Comix and Ruptura Estudios Join Forces and Announce Hell’s Half Acre

Magma Comix has teamed up with Ruptura Estudios to introduce a new imprint dedicated to producing fiction with Hispanic appeal by creators from across the globe. The venture’s inaugural release will be Hell’s Half Acre, a Western noir with a supernatural twist.

Penned by Magma founder and New York Times best-selling author Denton J. Tipton (known for works such as Cobra Kai and G.I. Joe) and featuring art and Cover A by Ramon Bunge (Mandrake the Magician), this series will also showcase special variant covers by Chris Evenhuis (Wynonna Earp and Sister Crash) and a retailer incentive cover by Glenn Fabry (Preacher and Captain America).

Set in rapidly changing 1904 Nashville, “Hell’s Half Acre” delves into the lingering sins of the past in a location rife with gambling, debauchery, and more. At the heart of the story lies Miss Marion’s, where the enigmatic gambler Britt sets off a chain of events that ensnare lawmen, outlaws, and a scorned woman whose role may spell his downfall or salvation when Hell comes calling.

Ruptura Estudios, originally established in the 1990s during the emergence of the “new Mexican comic” scene, has re-emerged after nearly 30 years to uphold its core mission of supporting creators and guiding readers through diverse realities.
