St. Mercy: Godland takes Mercy to the Golden Age of Hollywood in New Limited Series

Top Cow Productions is set to partner with EP1T0ME Studios once again for the new miniseries, St. Mercy: Godland, to be published by Image Comics. This new four-issue series of the popular action/adventure comic series, created by writer John Zuur Platten and artist Atilio Rojo with lettering by Troy Peteri, will see Mercy navigating the ruthless, golden era of 1930s Hollywood, as she continues to grapple with the ancient Incan gold and its accompanying curse.

St. Mercy: Godland will feature a main cover by Rojo and a variant cover by Lyndon White.

In St. Mercy: Godland, Mercedes Oro finds herself immersed in the golden age of 1930s Hollywood, wrestling with her immortal nature and the ancient Incan gold, all while facing the looming presence of the Incan gods.

ith the spirit of Toctolissica within her and her demon sister Quispe by her side, Mercy’s newfound stardom in Hollywood raises the question of whether it will be enough to fend off the forces of the past, or if she will be drawn into a conflict from which even she cannot escape.

Platten shares:

“No matter where Mercy goes or what era she’s in, she can’t escape her curse. In Godland, while the setting shifts from the Wild West to what was then called Hollywoodland, Mercy’s unwanted duty remains the same—protect the Incan gold, death be damned.”

Rojo expressed excitement about the new installment, stating:

“Mercy is relentless; we cannot wait for readers to reunite with her, to see our version of 1930s Hollywood, to meet the new cast from that era, and to experience the wild action scenes.”

EP1T0ME’s Creative Director, Lee Thomas, drew parallels between Mercy’s journey and beloved characters, saying:

“[It] reminds us of the eclectic journeys of Game of Thrones’ Arya Stark or Quantum Leap’s Sam Beckett.”

St. Mercy: Godland will be arriving at your favorite local comic shops on April 10th, 2024.
