The crime-fighting icon has long been a staple in all mediums of entertainment and now prepares to revisit with longtime fans and a whole new generation of new fans with a creative team that looks to honor the legacy while breathing some fresh air into the iconic universe of Dick Tracy.

This new era for the iconic detective promises to be a noir-infused chapter in the Dick Tracy legacy, with a storyline set in the aftermath of World War II. The narrative will revolve around a complex web of intrigue and danger that ensnares detective Dick Tracy and everything he holds dear, in a hardboiled and realistic take on the classic elements of the Dick Tracy world.

The creators, Alex Segura, Michael Moreci, and Chantelle Aimée Osman, have emphasized their commitment to honoring the rich history of Dick Tracy while crafting a fresh and modern take on the iconic detective. According to Alex Segura, the goal is to create a compelling crime saga that remains true to the essence of what Chester Gould originally envisioned.

Michael Moreci added that their aim is not to imitate the masterful work of Chester Gould, but rather to recalibrate the essence of Dick Tracy for both new and existing audiences, capturing the crime comic’s roots while giving it a contemporary twist.

Chantelle Aimée Osman expressed her honor in introducing Chester Gould’s beloved character to a new generation of readers and underscored the creative team’s capability to bring Dick Tracy and his entourage of characters into the twenty-first century.

Artist Geraldo Borges shared his excitement in playing with a strong black-and-white contrast, embracing a fresh and new perspective while respecting Chester Gould’s original stories.
