Squid Game: The Challenge – Netflix Greenlights Reality Series Giving Fans A Chance To Compete in Squid Game
Netflix revealed a new reality series with an announcement trailer that is set to give fans a chance to compete in Squid Game with the new competition series titled Squid Game: The Challenge. The series that debuted in September of 2021 and rose to insane levels of popularity will now give fans the opportunity to participate in the games. The upcoming series will take 456 competitors and put them up to the ultimate test as they compete in games based off of the South Korean series.
Revealed during the Banff World Media Festival. Head of Global TV Bela Bajaria, shared the logo and teaser trailer that will mark the biggest competition series featuring the biggest cast and cash prize ever before in reality TV. The series will bring in 456 competitors to compete in games inspired by the series for a total prize of $4.56M.
Recruitment is also open for those brave enough to compete. Players who wish to sign up can visit SquidGameCasting.com. For those eager to see or be part of more Squid Games ahead of the previously confirmed season 2, you can sign up and see if you have what it takes to take home the huge cash prize.
Brandon Riegg, Netflix VP of Unscripted and Documentary Series, provided a statement with the announcement of the upcoming competition series, saying:
“Squid Game took the world by storm with Director Hwang’s captivating story and iconic imagery. We’re grateful for his support as we turn the fictional world into reality in this massive competition and social experiment. Fans of the drama series are in for a fascinating and unpredictable journey as our 456 real-world contestants navigate the biggest competition series ever, full of tension and twists, with the biggest ever cash prize at the end.”
Squid Game: The Challenge will run for 10 episodes and is being produced by Studio Lambert and The Garden. The series will be filmed in the UK.Stephen Lambert, Tim Harcourt, and Toni Ireland from Studio Lambert as well as John Hay, Nicola Hill, and Nicola Brown from The Garden will serve as executive producers.
