Sports Return to Nintendo in April With Nintendo Switch Sports
Nintendo announced during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct that sports are making a comeback to Nintendo in April with Nintendo Switch Sports. The new title will let fans relive the glory days of Wii U sports once more with a new entry in Nintendo sports.
The new game will let players take on their friends in six different sports using the motion controls of the Switch Joy-Cons. The six sports included are tennis, bowling, chambara, soccer, volleyball, and badminton. If you purchase the physical version of Nintendo Switch Sports, you will also get the leg strap accessory that will allow you to strap your Joy-Con to your leg and track its movement, which can be used in the soccer Shootout Mode.
You will have the option to play with your family and friends locally or you can take your skills online in ranked matchmaking or among your friends online as well. The game already has two free updates planned, one that arrives this summer will let you use the leg strap for the main soccer mode as well and this fall, a free update will include golf to the collection of sports. There is also a planned online playtest from February 18th-20th with the signup opening on February 5th.
Nintendo Switch Sports will release on April 29th, 2022. Check out the trailer below:
