In Spinal Cord, the members of the heavy metal band of the same name find themselves on a treacherous journey after being selected to partake in a prestigious touring competition sponsored by Pain Records. Little do they know, the horrors awaiting them on this path are all too real, posing a challenge far beyond their musical talents.

As they navigate through this nightmarish contest, their very perception of reality is put to the ultimate test.

Author David Braña shared his inspiration for Spinal Cord, stating:

“The idea of Spinal Cord had been in my head for a long time. I wanted to write about a music band trying to make its way in today’s complicated industry.”

Collaborator Pahito added:

“When David asked me, ‘Do you like heavy metal? Because I want you to draw a comic about a band facing zombies, vampires, and other monsters,’ I had to pause Chaos A.D. by Sepultura, because I was so excited that I couldn’t listen to music and read at the same time.”

Spinal Cord Volume 1 is slated to hit bookstores on September 10, 2024, followed by its arrival at your favorite local comic shops on September 11, 2024.
