Sam Richardson Joins Cast Of Magical HOCUS POCUS 2
Hocus Pocus 2 recently kicked off production for the sequel to the beloved Disney Halloween film that saw a group of teenagers awaken local legend and witches, The Sanderson Sisters. The film will see Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy reprise their roles and the Sanderson sisters. According to THR, Hocus Pocus 2 added Sam Richardson to its cast, joining the returning cast.
Hocus Pocus 2 will revolve around three young women who accidentally resurrect the Sanderson sisters in modern-day Salem. The film will have some big shoes to fill as the original film has become a beloved classic and somewhat a family Halloween tradition in many households. The film will be directed by Anne Fletcher from a script written by Jen D’Angelo and is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
“Now more than ever, people need to laugh,” Fletcher said earlier this year. “We should be laughing every day, and there is so much fun to be had with these three unbelievable women playing delicious characters from such a beloved film. I am so grateful to be able to play a part in bringing these witches back to life, and to be working with my friends at Disney again makes it all the more special. This is a movie for everyone, from the fans who grew up with the first film to the next generation of viewers, and I can’t wait to get started.“
Richardson was recently seen in the horror-comedy Werewolves Within that is available on VOD and starred alongside Chris Pratt in the sci-fi thriller film The Tomorrow War that has already been picked up for a sequel as well and it’s expected that Richardson will return to reprise his role for the film.
