Sadistic Trailer For The Scott Derrickson Horror Thriller THE BLACK PHONE

The first trailer for director Scott Derrickson’s new supernatural horror film, The Black Phone, has been released and looks to be a terrifyingly creepy and disturbing film.

Ethan Hawke stars in the film as a sadistic killer who abducts a shy but clever 13-year-old boy named Finney Shaw. The boy ends up being locked away in a “soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.”

Mason Thames takes on the role of Finney Shaw in the movie and this is his first-ever film role.

Derrickson wrote the film with C. Robert Cargill, who have also worked together on Doctor Strange and Sinister. With these two films under their belts together, it’s not surprising to see the potential in this horror movie.

The movie is based on the short story by Joe Hill from his New York Times  bestseller 20th Century Ghosts. Universal and Blumhouse produced the film and it will be released in theaters on February 4th, 2022.
