Pixar’s Elio Adds America Ferrera to Cast

D23 Expo is here! The yearly event that comes jam-packed with Disney announcements and the projects to come in the next few years should have fans and social media buzzing through the weekend. Pixar‘s Elio was one of the highlights of today’s D23 with the announcement of America Ferrera‘s casting. Ferrera will star alongside Yonas Kibreab with Kibreab playing Elio and Ferrera playing Elio’s mother Olga Solis.

The film will follow its titular character Elio, the 11-year-old boy “who finds himself transported across the galaxy & mistaken for the intergalactic Ambassador for our planet Earth.” That is all Pixar is willing to divulge with further details remaining under wraps. They also took to social media to give fans the first look at the film which you can see for yourself below:

Elio is set to release in the Summer of 2024. Stay tuned as more details are revealed.
