New Doctor Strange 2 Trailer Teases a Shattering Amount of Possibilities and Threats
Marvel released a brand-new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer during this year’s Super Bowl. The new trailer teased a shattering amount of possibilities and threats that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will be facing in the upcoming sequel. The new footage teased the upcoming realities inside the Multiverse, a strange, but familiar voice and we also have a new poster teasing something equally as mysterious within it.
In the trailer, we see the general threat of the upcoming film as Doctor Stranges’ constant tampering with space-time has left the Multiverse in danger. As reality begins to collapse, Doctor Strange will reach out to Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) for help. As we also see in the new trailer, we have other familiar faces we may be crossing paths with.
Check out the Multiverse of Madness’ official synopsis:
“The MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.”
The film will also star Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, and Chiwetel Eijofor. Also set to appear in the film, is Patrick Stewart if the new trailer is to be of any indication. The new trailer reveals the mysterious voice of Stewart is heard in the trailer saying, “We should tell him the truth.” There is also a brief glimpse of Professor X in the trailer that has confirmed at the very least a cameo and X-Men fans are in a frenzy with the implications of the X-Men crossing over into the MCU.
Sam Raimi directs Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness from a script by Jade Bartlett and Michael Waldron.

Something else to note is the new poster that was released, which you can see below. The new poster shows Doctor Strange in the Sanctum Santorum as the glass and reality literally shatter around him. The shards show different characters and moments of the film, but one particular shard features Captain Carter’s shield.
Whether this is Marvel Studios playing games with fans, or this is in fact a hint at a possible cameo of Captain Carter who knows. The possibility of this would be absolutely epic and who wouldn’t want to see Hayley Atwell not only reprise her role but bring Captain Brittain to life after her newfound popularity after Disney+’s What If…?
Check out the full trailer and poster below and get ready to jump into the Madness of the Multiverse when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness releases in theaters on May 6th, 2022.
