Netflix Renews The Watcher for Season 2

Netflix has announced that they have greenlit The Watcher for season 2. The series from Ryan Murphy was on the streamer’s top 10 list alongside another Murphy-created series in Dahmer which starred Evan Peters. Murphy now has gotten the go-ahead from the streamer for a second season to the mystery series based on true events as well as a renewal for Dahmer‘s Monster series which will look to adapt an anthology-type series focusing on other famed killers.

The Watcher quickly rose through the streaming ranks with over 125M hours watched while securing its spot on the top of the charts for a respectable amount of time. The series followed a family who moves into a suburban dream home only to see their dream turn into a nightmare as they begin to receive letters or “an ode to a house” from a stranger watching not only the home but the family from a distance.

As the situation becomes direr and secrets begin to unravel, the family finds themselves caught in a web of unanswered questions that threatens the very core of the family. The season ended with more questions than answers and while the true story the series was adapted from remains an open case, the streamer and Murphy may be looking to give fans closure perhaps with a second season.

The Watcher starred Bobby Cannavale, Naomi Watts, Jennifer Coolidge, Mia Farrow, Margo Martindale, Terry Kinney, Joe Mantello, Richard Kind, Noma Dumezweni, Michael Nouri, Isabel Gravitt, Christopher McDonald, Henry Hunter Hall, and Luke David Blumm.
