MORTAL KOMBAT 2 Moving Forward With Moon Knight Writer Jeremy Slater
New Line is ready to test the might of fans once again as Mortal Kombat 2 continues to move forward after the release of the rebooted live-action adaptation of the popular fighting game. Deadline has reported that the upcoming sequel will be written by Moon Knight head writer Jeremy Slater.
The film will no doubt pick up where we left off in the previous film which all but confirmed the introduction of Johnny Cage and gave us a hit film during the pandemic opening at number one at the box office and ranked atop one of HBO Max‘s films as it debuted simultaneously in theaters and the streamer.
The film, although some fans had issues with it, delivered some exciting action sequences, bloody fatalities and worked in the cheesy dialogue of the game into its comedic identity while giving us fans of the 90s films a fond reminder of the films we loved, the game we grew up playing and something new to look forward to.
While we wait for more news on MK2, Moon Knight is already primed for a big premiere on March 30th, 2022 on Disney+ and we have already gotten our look at the first official trailer last week and it looks to bring the Marvel-favorite character to life beautifully.
No release date has been set for Mortal Kombat 2, but stay tuned as more information becomes available.
