MOON KNIGHT Trailer Shows Oscar Isaac and The Mystery of His Identity in The New MCU Series
We have waited a long time since the announcement that Oscar Isaac was making his way into the MCU as the character Moon Knight. After many announcements including that Ethan Hawke would be playing the role of the main villain in the premiere season, and also a video of Isaac training for the series. With all that tiding us over, we now have what we wanted most, a trailer! Marvel showed off what we can expect in the Disney+ original series and we get a very proper look at Isaac in full costume.
We were also treated to a release date and we can expect the Marvel series to arrive this March. Now that we also have a good look at Hawke as the series villain, we see more on what he said was the basis of his character in cul leader David Koresh as he revealed in an interview with Seth Meyers. He also stated that Isaac, who happens to be his neighbor in Brookly, played a big role in his casting of the series.
Hawke told Meyers during the interview:
“He came up to me and was like, ‘I really liked The Good Lord Bird. Want to be in Moon Knight with me?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah.”
Starring alongside Isaac and Hawke will be Gaspard Ulliel and May Calamawy who are said to have significant roles in the series. The series will be produced by the Marvel hive mind of Kevin Feige, alongside Tommy Turtle, and Jeremy Slater. The series episodes will be directed by Justin Benson, Mohamed Diab, and Aaron Moorhead.
It is a really interesting dynamic to see the toll and weight of the identities that Moon Knight deals with and it will be a different kind of hero than what we have seen in the MCU prior. This might just be the biggest live-action adaptation since Netflix‘s Daredevil. I for one cannot wait to see more on this.
Moon Knight will premiere on Disney+ on March 30th, 2022. Check out the trailer and poster reveal below:
