Masters of the Universe: Forge of Destiny Delivers a Groundbreaking Prequel to Netflix’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation
Dark Horse Comics has announced a new miniseries titled Masters of the Universe: Forge of Destiny. The limited series coming in partnership with Mattel brings readers a prequel story to the hit animated series on Netflix, Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
Along with the return of He-Man comes the return of another name versed in the world of Masters of the Universe as beloved writer Tim Seeley returns to pen the series with art by Eddie Nuñez, colors by Brad Simpson, and letters by AndWorld Design.
Dark Horse’s description of Forge of Destiny reads:
On the world of Eternia, a fragile balance exists between science and magic–a balance kept by the universe’s mightiest hero, He-Man! On a peaceful mission to the island nation of Anwat Gar, the royal Eternian caravan comes under attack by the minions of the evil Skeletor. And on the island itself, the nefarious Evil-Lyn sets in motion a plan that could lead to all-out war!
Seeley and Nuñez reunite after having worked together on Masters of the Universe: Masterverse and are set up to tell another epic story within the Masters of the Universe animated series released in 2021 by writer/ director Kevin Smith.
The series put the lens on the other phenomenal characters as He-Man and Skeletor took less of the spotlight this time around. Surely the prequel will give fans that remedy to the missing key characters as we take a step back into the events we saw happen in the Netflix series.
Enternia finds itself in capable hands when Masters of the Universe: Forge of Destiny #1 releases at your favorite local comic shop and digitally on September 6, 2023.
